The project entailed work on product positioning. The client's product had low market share but was a great tasting cereal. The company-wide direction was to position its cereals as heart-healthy, yet they didn't fit this profile. I decided to dial up the hedonistic aspect of the product - and position it as 'candy-for-breakfast'. To do this I redesigned the packaging to highlight it's heritage - specifically I used an iconic wrapper as the cereal bowl. The final touch was a sunburst in the brand's colours behind the bowl. I also simplified the product name. The design almost leaps off the shelf - separating it from the other more static designs, but most importantly supports the candy-for-breakfast positioning. The result was a doubling in market share for the brand as consumers decided to try it and then kept coming back for more. The positioning was so spot-on that the design I created back in 1999 has remained untouched as of 2019. Brands are typically repositioning frequently in CPG. The fact that this design has stood the test of time confirms the strength of the positioning that I devised.

The client is a SaaS Company for Car Rental Businesses around the world. They have the "strongest" software in their niche, validated by the number and overall score from their customer reviews and awards they've received (and SEO).
The Problem:
In summary, they were the leaders on the market in terms of quality and service, but their website (outdated since 4 years ago) didn't communicate this at all, making them losing a high % of quality leads from potential customers that couldn't see them as professionals.
To help them increase the chance of getting this quality leads, We've made a strategy to come up with a fresh, and modern website that communicated the quality and professionalism they have, increasing the level of trust and awareness of this step of their sales process.
So, our goal would be: Being the #1 Car Rental Solution Software by redesigning Website to set the Brand apart from the competition.

And I suggested to use the following metrics to determine the success of our goals:
- Volume, since they have a free trial step on their sales funnel, we would expect an increase in the number of people asking for a free trial.
- Value, being a leader in the market means they'll get a higher % of Quality Leads (Customers looking for quality over price), so we would expect an increase on the number of final customers that choose a higher pricing plan.
- Effectiveness, Becoming a leader in your market means your prospects will spend less time deciding if they want to work with you or not, the quicker they trust you, the quicker they'll sign up for that free trial, So we would expect a decrease in the average Conversion Time of the page.

The Process:
To help the client achieve the goal, We've studied our competitor's and look for gaps in terms of branding where we could make them shine, we've discovered that our gap should be going for branded illustrations, not only because none of the competitors were close to this brand quality but also because it's proven to be a good design pattern because it was a trend on website design.
I worked with the CEO and Project Manager defining our personas, Creating wireframes based on a content strategy to make sure we were giving our users the information they needed to gain interest and trust on the product.
Then, we hired a freelance illustrator and we worked together making sure we define the story and feeling the illustrations.
After our design was ready, we proceed to have iterations rounds with the stakeholders to make sure they had something that not only achieves the goals, but they also liked. Then I developed the whole website including a dynamic knowledge base using Wordpress and proceeded to optimize it the best I could to get an 80 Score on Google Speed Test.

The Result
After 29 days of work, I've managed to create a pixel-perfect and responsive website with a clear story and proper branding that totally sets the brand apart from its competition, that has a clear and user-oriented information architecture to make sure our prospects trusted and were interested & feel related wit the product and Has an Easy to update Content Management System to upload new content about the Knowledge Base for the Software + New Features Blog.

We let our analytics go on for 2+ Months, and these were the results we got:

Avg Conversion Time Decreased
% of Customers in High Paying Plans Increased
